From pregnancy
through the fourth trimester.

Pelvic Alignment

i.

Pelvic Alignment

Hip circles, figure eights, and quiet rocking to open the pelvis and ease the spine. A daily practice for a body in the long journey of growing.

Labor Preparation

ii.

Labor Preparation

A vessel for surge and rest. Supported squats, all-fours rocking, and the rhythms that move a baby earthside when the time comes.

Postpartum Recovery

iii.

Postpartum Recovery

Soft return. Gentle movement to find center again, to soothe a tender pelvic floor, to rock a new baby in your arms.

The Practice

Eight ways
to move with it.

Each pose is printed on the ball — a silent guide for the body that already knows. The instruction lives in your breath, your weight, the slow return to center.

i.

Hip Circles

Draw circles with sit bones, then figure eights — both directions.

ii.

Cat Cow

Hug baby and round; arch and reach. Spine in dialogue with breath.

iii.

Hip Hikes

Rock side to side. Lift one hip, then switch — find the obliques.

iv.

Inlet · Outlet

All fours over the ball. Open and close the pelvis through the breath.

v.

Supported Cat Cow

Forearms on ball, knees on ground. Inhale to arch, exhale to round.

vi.

Lunge

Drape over the ball. Hips forward and back, then switch sides.

vii.

Supported Squat

Deep squat, head resting. Push off, roll back, return — repeat.

viii.

Welcher's Technique

Lay back, arch open. One arm cradles the head, legs hold the form.

We're all just walking each other home.

— Ram Dass

Rain Gentle

The Founder

Rain Gentle

Master Massage Practitioner · Doula · Mother of Two

In practice since 1994, Rain has spent three decades in the soft and fiercely powerful work of bodywork and birth. Doula-trained in 2001, she gave birth to her first child four years later — a sacred home birth held by her midwife and her sister — and a hospital "home birth" with her second daughter in 2008. The Gentle Birth Ball is the distillation of that lineage into a single tool you can rest your weight upon.

By being held and supported, you have access to the portal of surrender. Having access to the portal of surrender, you can safely melt into something higher.

A practice held by hands.

Rain has a strong, gentle, and intuitive touch that lets you know you are in the hands of a true professional and healer.

— Jessie Nelson

She listens, she truly sees you, and she helps you understand your own body in a clear and empowering way. Her presence feels safe, grounded, and nourishing — especially when you are pregnant.

— Afra

The last few weeks of my third pregnancy were very difficult, and the work I received from Rain really got me through. I felt more calm, and I slept much better. I highly recommend her.
